Value for Money: 7.5 / 10 - it's not cheap but it is special 

Difficulty: 9 / 10 - convinced the back 9 exists just to humble you

Atmosphere: 9 / 10 - easy going and welcoming

De Texelse is a special kind of course where for whatever reason you can spend a lot of time looking for balls, lose a couple, find out you're not as good at golf as you thought and still walk off the 18th green with a smile on your face.

This course gives you a chance to score if you play from the right places giving you some hope today might be a good day by the time you walk off the 9th green. Then the fun really starts. The back 9 starts with a comfortable par 3 only to chip away at the belief you might be a decent golfer one hole at a time for the remaining 8 holes.

As you spend time looking for your ball amongst the helm grass embankment 5 yards from the fairway and chipping back on to the green because you were 2 yards too far left, you can't help but admire the skill required to get around this place. Just watched the Open and feel like you can tackle a links course? Then this place is for you.
